Help Sunny Beat Bone Cancer
Donation protected
Sunny has cancer. Last month, she started to limp. X-rays revealed bone cancer: appendicular osteocarcoma
She needs amputation of the limb. Without it, she is unlikely to last a year; with it, she may have 4 or 5 years
This is lifesaving surgery I can't afford. I am unemployed due to mental Illness; my family is doing what they can , but the cost is out of our price range
Please, whatever you can afford would be immensely appreciated
Sunny was born a kitten 8 years ago in April, and, as was the custom, she remained so for some time until she became a Cat. She has since then remained a delightful paragon of felinity; a clever (she has, perhaps, stolen for herself the much vaunted Singular Braincell of the Orange Cats), vivacious girl; and an empathetic and caring companion
How I met Sunny
My puppy Teddy and I had just recently lost his cat-brother, a sweet hearted orange cat named Sunny D, to feline leukemia, and we were both of us still mourning. I had taken Teddy to the veterinarian’s office, where they had in a large cage a litter of rescue kittens. Teddy rushed up to the cage, delighted and fascinated by the kittens, but they all skittered away and hid. All but one brave little kitten, her left eye milky and mostly blind, who trod bravely forward, going nose to nose with Teddy as he wagged his tail delightedly. I asked the vet staff what her name was, and they responded, “Sunny,” and so she came home with me
Why Sunny is a very special girl who doesn’t deserve to die
No cat and no one deserves to die, but Sunny is a wonderful girl beyond most. I have had and been around many cats from childhood, and Sunny is exceptional; she took to leash training well, has learned a few tricks, and actually comes inside when called (though she is now an indoor kitty). Sunny is one of the most loving cats I have known; though shy, she is always affectionate and always knows when I am sad and need support. She is my emotional rock.
