Help Sunny Walk Pain-Free – One More Surgery to Go!

Meet Sunny, our sweet, resilient rescue dog who has been through so much in his short life. Born with severe deformities in both of his back legs, Sunny has never known what it’s like to run and play without pain. Before we rescued him, he suffered with multiple re homes. Despite everything he has endured, since finding his forever home with us he has overcome his severe loss of trust and anxiety towards humans. Today he remains the most loving and courageous pup.

Sunny’s biggest challenge is bilateral patella luxation (his kneecaps constantly dislocate) and curved femurs, which make every step painful. Because he has had to live with these conditions for so long, he now suffers from stage 4 arthritis, making even simple movements difficult.

His condition required major surgery to fix both legs, and we have made it halfway through this journey—his right leg has been successfully repaired! He showed incredible strength and made an amazing recovery.

Now, he needs his left leg fixed to have a real chance at a pain-free, happy life.

Sunny’s next surgery will include a femoral osteotomy to straighten his left leg and patella luxation repair to stop his kneecap from dislocating. This is a complex procedure, and the costs are overwhelming, even with everything we have already done.
