Our Beloved Elan Sun Star

Most of the world knows of Elan Sunstar through his visionary art.  His connection to light earned him the name “Sunstar". Highly recognized for his photography, his work circles the globe. He has been published in over 1,200 covers and Ad layouts. Every photo exhibits his philosophy on shooting with natural sunlight which invoke a feeling of wellbeing and dynamic health.

I first met Sunstar in 1988 when he was living in a beautiful beach house with a meditation room that hung over the edge of the crystal clear ocean. Drinking coconut water, fasting, cleansing and living a raw food lifestyle he inspired me with his healthy way of life.

Sun has planted thousands of trees in his life. He has been a Healer, Raw Food Chef and Living Foods Specialist for 45 years. He is a huge proponent of living food and organic production. Sun is also known for being a networking entrepreneur, bringing together like minds. He is an advocator for sustainability, consciousness, meditation, and community. Sun is not just a graduate of fine art, classical music, a prolific artist, published author, painter, sculpture, pianist, gifted thinker and teacher but also a student of life.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Many do not know that in February 2021 while at the farmers market without warning, Sunʻs legs just gave out. He went to the hospital where he was given the diagnosis of Cancer in his spine and legs.  To my understanding Cancer is something he had a very, very long time ago but he beat it with a raw and healthy lifestyle.  But now it had returned with vengeance.  There was little the doctors could do. As I find out more of the story I hear that he did try some alternative treatment options but refused western medicine options. Ultimately he ended up in Hospice. He was moved to a facility in the dry desolate area of Oahu where he has remained ever since.

Sun has little to no support system in Hospice, and no family to come to his aide.  He has had people bring him healthy food and some visitors but because of Covid no personal touch by anyone. Visitations are done through a window in his room which is his only connection to the outside world. Sunstar is depressed and bed ridden. And the Covid crisis has isolated him even more.

In his younger days he was an avid windsurfer and waterman. Being an active soul all his life, he no longer has the ability to go outside to get the sun rays on his face. Because his legs aren't working, his only option is to lay in his bed all day, and night inside the harsh and fake lighting - which he has always detested. He only has a TV and a cell phone to keep him company.

He dearly misses fresh air, healthy foods and being nourished by the ocean. This was not what was supposed to happen. This is not how Sunstar is supposed to spend his last days. We need a miracle.

I am reaching out to the community to ask for help to give this man the dignity that he deserves and the financial assistance that he desperately needs. Sun is ready to be vulnerable and share his story. He needs to know he is not alone. Being in your 70ʻs in Hospice all alone is very scary.

UPDATE: June 15th, 2021

Sunstar is now actively transitioning. The Angels are circling and soon will carry him home.  Over the last two weeks his body started to give up. He is no longer doing things for himself. He is no longer speaking and he can not use his telephone.  Every now and then the nurses will FaceTime me so I can spend time with him but it is hard to see him like this. This is not the death he deserves but it is the one he has chosen but I am confident it will not be much longer until his spirit is free.

How are these funds being appropriated?

My Name is Alana and I have been helping with everything behind the scenes to get his affairs in order.  Before Sun stopped eating he was using these funds to order things from Amazon and have all the comforts around him.  He said if any money is left in the end he wanted me to keep it for helping him. I refused. I told him that I will spend every penny on seeing to it that his vision continues to manifest, and his lifes work is perpetuated in the eyes, hearts and minds of all.  Just like I did in 1994 when I setup Sunstock photo agency for him. I will never stop helping this man that I adore. That we all Adore. Our Atlantian Soul Brother.

Sunstar Initiative and LLC has been set up ($400) to protect his body of work and to continue his legacy. Anyone interested in helping feel free to email me at [email redacted] we have a team started of Sunlovers that are working from the heart. We will soon need  equipment in terms of Computers and Hard drives to which we are organizing now with big thanks to Michael Bailey.

I have also used some of the funds to pay for his website to get back online and purchase a hard drive to get it backed up ($100). His site which was taken down because he didnʻt recognize the charge on his credit card and denied it. Dooh! I have paid the back charges and for a year in advance of fees and scam protection ($420) to make sure this stays online until we can migrate it to another server and re-work it to a friendlier format. Thank you Janet Irwin Henderson for your love and commitment all these years to making this site possible for us to enjoy. It should be back online soon!

Next will be to pay for his cremation which is going to be anywhere from $800-$1500. He did speak to me about his death and he wants to be planted as a Dwarf Coconut tree. Ultimately we want an entire orchard! Anyone with healthy dwarf cocos please reach out!

And then will be the Celebration of Life! Funds will be used to fly me over to Oahu to collect his ashes rent a car and lots of flowers! We expect to have a tree planting, flowers, the big Kahuna a paddle out and gathering  to honor SUN. Across the globe people will cry, laugh, dance and SMILE in his name. More to come when the time is right.

For now, all Sunstar wants it for you to pray for him and for his soul to do the right thing. Please pray for Sun. Pray his angels show him the guidance he needs and his path to be illuminated. Also I did ask Sun what he wants to tell everyone and this is the last complete sentence he said to me before he lost his ability to speak.  "I want people to love each other more and appreciate each other more with the life they have now and not take it for granted." "I want my angels, I want to go home."

Sunstar has given to others all his life.  From his amazing photos, to planting trees to planting seeds inspiring minds. Now it is our turn to give back to him. Please contribute whatever you can. Every little bit helps and is deeply appreciated.

UPDATE: June 18th, 2021
Our dear brother passed around 3:30pm. He had a peaceful exit drug free with a conscious crossing. He was blessed earlier in the day with hands on healing, prayers, song, chanting and guided meditation by a beautiful brother from his spiritual group. He had Earth Angels guide him towards the light. Those with the gift to "see" have already shared that his fears are over. He has made it back home to the light where is now one with all that is.

A celebration of life will be had after the word gets out that our dear brother is no longer with us here. We are looking at a date this summer. There will be a Facebook invite made or you can send your email to [email redacted] to be notified when the time comes.  Other goals are to use the funds to set up a memorial site, re-do his website, hosting forever, his smile book re-published and perhaps  others with all the wonderful Sunstar photos and your beautiful stories have about this creative, loving, generous and talented inspirational soul we have the honor to play with in the dance of life. More to come to keep his dreams alive forever and ever. Amen.

With Love and Hugs,
Alana
