Help Super Lukas for his Fight for Sight
Donation protected
Joe and Katie Carr previously of Hanover Township just found out life altering news for their little boy Lukas. Their now four year old son was diagnosed with optic pathways glioma. It is a low grade form of Brain Cancer. He has two tumors growing behind his eyes within his optic nerve. Lukas and his family will be traveling to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for chemotherapy treatments from Northern New Jersey, to Philadelphia once a week for 13 months for treatment. In addition to the chemo , Lukas has to receive an MRI every 3 months. After this initial 1st phase of chemotherapy, Lukas will continue to be monitored closely with MRI’s, vision tests, and other rounds of Chemo if necessary. This will continue until he is at least 8 years old. With the right amount of treatment and prayers the hopes are that Lukas will live a happy normal life without going blind or losing any further sight. There have been so many requests for ways to help them on this journey to save his sight that I wanted to give people a way to help this family of five . Joe and Katie also have two other children and can use help deferring the cost of travel , treatment and other expenses they are going to be faced with on this journey. They can truly use your prayers, and appreciate any help that you can give. (even if it means you just sharing their story) . He just completed his 6th treatment. He has 4 more weeks then he gets 2.5 weeks off. During that time he will go to CHOP for an MRI and then he will have a vision test with his ophthalmologist. He starts back up of chemo on April 8.
Joe and Katie Carr are totally blown away by the love, support , sharing, prayers, well wishes and by the amount of people who have been donating to their son Lukas’s cause. There are no words to express their gratitude. Thank you for giving them hope, and for understanding the expenses that are piling up in this fight for Lukas’s sight.
