Thank you for answering the call. To our small business friends, thank you for sharing our story. To our faith community, you have blessed us with your strength and generosity. Stay tuned! 54 is coming back.

UPDATE (10/16/23): Thank you for continuing to support. The community response is amazing. We have adjusted the goal to reflect the total funds needed to get 54 Beans up and running. We are almost half-way there thanks to so many generous people.

UPDATE: Look what we have accomplished as a community!!! Thank you to everyone who donated, shared and sent positive thoughts and prayers. We met the initial goal which was providing cash flow to stabilize Chemerre at this time.

There is more need to be met but the fact is folks who love 54 Beans raised $7,000 in 24 hours is to be celebrated!
The goal will not be adjusted but please know there is still need present. This platform will remain open.

Thank you for showing up in this way!!

If you know Chemerre Wells, you know she is a quiet force! As the Founder/Owner of 54 Beans, she created the special place in Carrollton that we have all come to know and love. A savvy business woman, a loving wife and mother and active community member, Chemere has worked incredibly hard to overcome insurmountable odds. She started a business during a global pandemic and gracefully faced a medical crisis managing to “keep it all together” as long as she could. Never once has she complained or stopped pursuing her dreams and goals. She instead keeps serving our community one cup of coffee or tea at a time.

Despite all her best efforts, Chemerre is facing a difficult situation - one that many business owners have experienced. Rising costs of food along with personal health challenges is enough to make the average person quit but not Chemerre. She remains optimistic about her future and is ready to take on the challenges she faces.

Every warrior needs a tribe to have her back during a challenging time.

Right now, she needs our help. Before she can rebound and find viable solutions, she needs funding to stabilize her business. As a community, let’s rally around Chemerre and her family during this time to help them. Funds donated will help with medical bills and business expenses. Chemerre has not asked for this gofundme to be established. This is organized by friends in the community who love her dearly and recognize that 54 Beans is a valuable community asset giving residents of Hampton Roads a tranquil place to gather.

If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Jamilia Shipman. Jamilia is a resident of IOW County and is a family friend to Chemerre.

Funds donated will be given directly to Chemerre Wells through this website she will enter her information as the beneficiary.

We can do this! Let’s keep Chemerre lifted during this time!
