Help Support Alexis Through Brain Surgery
“at the end of July, Alexis mentioned that her left hand was numb/tingly, but she still played some softball that weekend....went to a doctor, was given a round of steroids (went scalloping....living life)....no change, so they sent her to a neurologist for an EMG (test on her nerves in her hand/arm), neurologist said to get an MRI sooner rather than later. She goes to ER for MRI, gets scan, they admit her overnight, saying that it appears that she had a stroke. She meets with a cardiologist and another neurologist from the USF stroke clinic the following week. New neurologist orders another MRI/CT....she gets that done last Wednesday, and radiologist doesn't think the image is consistent with the shape of a stroke. So today she had an appointment at Moffitt Cancer Center. We finally a clearer idea of what is going on and a plan. She will be having surgery on Sept 16 to remove her Brain Tumor.”
