HELP SUPPORT BABY PAYTON & THE PAGANO FAMILY
Donation protected
Amber and Anthony found out they were expecting in March 2022. Amber's pregnancy was a rollercoaster. Shortly after finding out she was pregnant, she was told she was miscarrying. Several weeks went by and she felt things weren't quite right so she went back to the doctor and she got some exciting news. She hadn't miscarried and was instead pregnant with twins! Several months went by and at a routine ultrasound, the doctors found some worrying growths on one of the babies. The remainder of her pregnancy was filled with excitement to welcome the girls, and concern for what might lay ahead.
The Paganos welcomed their beautiful twin daughters, Payton and Parker, to the world in late October. Amber and Anthony were over the moon to meet their babies for the first time, however, the beginning of the girls' lives was complicated by a month-long NICU stay. Payton's growths stumped the doctors and she was scheduled for biopsy surgery. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with Infantile Myofibromatosis. Infantile Myofibromatosis is a rare disorder, characterized by benign tumors, that affect the skin, bone, muscle, soft tissue, and sometimes the internal organs. The disorder can vary in severity but the tumors can grow large and damage nearby organs or other parts of the body.
Last week, Payton started to have difficulty breathing. The paramedics rushed her to the hospital. She has been in the PICU since. She has tested negative for RSV, Covid, Flu and her medical team has continued to try to figure out what is going on with her.
She currently remains in the PICU, intubated. She has chest tubes and a PICC line. Her condition is critical.
Amber and Anthony have watched in agony seeing their baby become so sick. They also are juggling caring for Parker at the same time. What they are having to navigate right now seems impossible.
When someone you love deeply, especially your child, is in critical condition, you can feel helpless. Many of Amber and Anthony's friends and family have asked how to help them. By donating we can help ease their financial burden during this difficult time.
The funds will be used to help support the Pagano family with:
Medical costs for Payton.
Living costs while Anthony takes unpaid leave to care for Payton and Parker.
Payton is a fighter. We hope that with the continued love and support from her medical team and family that she will get better and get back to cuddling Mom, Dad, and twin sister, Parker.
