Help Support Brandon's Family
Brandon's wife, Joanna, and their three children, David (11), Benjamin (9) and Gabriella (5) could use all the support we can give them. Funds collected from this campaign will be used to help with funeral costs and rebuilding their lives after this tragic loss.
On June 23, 1978, Brandon David Wright was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan; the first of three children to his parents David and Janet Wright. He was a bright and happy child, and spoke full sentences before reaching the age of two. The family moved to Regina for a few years; then to Balgonie, Saskatchewan. As he grew up, Brandon made many friends, many of which he was able to remain close with from childhood through his passing.
As he became an adult, Brandon began to exhibit signs of mental illness. He was ultimately diagnosed with schizophrenia and depression. These debilitating diseases were incredibly difficult on him and his loved ones; and he spent a significant amount of time in and out of psychiatric hospital care.
He met his wife, Joanna in October 2008. Soon after, their son David was born, followed by Benjamin and Gabriella. The births of his children were some of the most joyful moments of his life. They were his whole world and he loved them fiercely.
The last few years of his life he suffered from severe depression, which caused him to begin to self-medicate in attempt to relieve his suffering. This led to the addiction which would eventually end his life.
He was a caring person who would often put the needs of others before his own. Brandon was always trying to make others happy, perhaps because he couldn't seem to make himself happy. He is finally at peace now, his battle over. He was loved by many. He touched a lot of lives. Our family won't ever be the same without him. He will be deeply missed.
May you finally rest easy, dear brother.
