Help support Chad on his journey to a new heart

Dear Gluss Community,
We are gathering together as close friends and family to Chad Gluss in hopes to help out a family that is loved and cherished by so many throughout the community.
For those of you who know Chad and his family, this is only a short glimpse into their amazing family and the obstacles that they have overcome. Chad’s story is one of hard work and a lifelong dedication to his wife (Kim), and 3 girls (Ashley, Meghan, Taylor), along with helping those in his Olmsted Falls community.
For many years Chad has dealt with heart problems. In 2007 he had his first valve replacement, followed by a second valve replacement two years later. His perseverance and courage allowed him to carry forth a great career as a Firefighter. Unfortunately due to his heart condition, he was forced to take a step back and retired in 2022. He now continues his dedication to his career by teaching at Lorain County Joint Vocational School. He is always putting his community first and it is time for us to give back to him!
This past Thursday, Chad was teaching an EMS class when his defibrillator went off. This is something he unfortunately has dealt with before, but this time was by far the worst. Luckily, God was looking out for him and had placed the right person there to help him. Chad’s other instructor, Jay, was able to apply his knowledge and help in saving Chad’s life. After being shocked 32 times from his defibrillator, 30 minutes of CPR, and 3 AED shocks, Chad was taken to UH Main where he will remain most likely for several months.
Chad’s road ahead will be extensive and will either require the placement of an LVAD, or a heart transplant. This journey ahead will be intense not only for himself, but his family as well. They will need all the support we can give them!
We ask you to consider donating to help with the financial stress that will accompany Chad’s medical needs, meals for the family, and any other support their family may need during this time.
Please visit the GoFundMe link provided, contribute if you can, and please pass along to others in the community. Thank you all for the support and prayers to Chad, Kim, and their families throughout this journey.
