Help support Charlie’s fibrosarcoma treatment
Donation protected
Charlie is a special boy with a unique upbringing, and in turn has a LOT of friends. I know Charlie has helped so many people by just being who he is and showing people love. He is truly special. I have been avoiding creating a gofundme, but I know there are amazing people in my life want to help, and who already have! So many of you love and care about Charlie, so if you are able to help out it would mean a lot to us. If you can’t help financially, please please know your love and support through all this is truly more than enough.
I have had pet insurance for Char and have not had to use it (in the 4+ years I’ve had him) until these past few months. Unfortunately, there is a $10k payout limit per policy year which I hit and far exceeded. I have spent an additional $13k out of pocket over these past 3 months, that won’t be reimbursed. Charlie’s fibrosarcoma surgery (maxillectomy) was today and cost $8k, which is why I set that as my goal amount. Charlie is my responsibility, but having to pay all this money despite having insurance is not something I anticipated.
Maxillectomy is a pretty major surgery. Charlie had large portion of his left upper jaw removed completely, in order to remove the fibrosarcoma. He will need a little time to recover, but will be able to eat and function normally once healed! Thankfully we caught this early, and many dogs are not so lucky. The surgeon said that pending good margins, Char’s prognosis is good. He may or may not need radiation afterwards but there is a good chance his cancer will be gone. He is a very good boy and has been responding really well to treatments. If you’ve made it this far, Char and I thank you.
