Help Support CJ's medical bills

After ministering to Buddhists in Thailand for nearly 14 years, our friends Carol and Dondon Estrella are dealing with a very difficult situation. Their 13 year old son, CJ, had a medical emergency while in Thailand. He was diagnosed with Multi-inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) as a result of complications from COVID-19. After showing severe symptoms, doctors recommended immediate IV Immunoglobin Therapy (IVIg).

 

After staying in the hospital CJ is feeling better and he will most likely be released in the coming days! The infection in his blood has subsided and while there is still liquid in his lungs, it is a huge improvement over last week. We are going back for a checkup and will continue to do so weekly. There are still issues with his coronary arteries, they are swollen, however, he is on blood thinners to address this. He will have a 2D echo done soon to check for improvement. Please continue to pray for healing and continued follow up appointments.

 

Carol and Dondon don't have the resources to cover CJ's medical costs. The hospital has asked for the bill to be paid in full soon. They are Filipino and not Thai citizens which means they don't have the same medical benefits coverage that Thai citizens receive. As such, they are left with a bill of 500k Thai Baht which is around $15,000 USD.

Carol and Dondon live very humbly in a small 2  bedroom apartment with a small kitchen above the school where they teach English to their Buddhist students.  They share friendship, food and Bible stories with them. They have been faithful servants of God and they really need our help to pay their son's medical/hospital bills in this foreign country, Thailand, which will not help them with their bills because they are Filipino.
