I wanted to give you an update on Farrukh. After almost 120 days in a coma, he’s finally home, and while his recovery is slow, he’s making progress. It’s going to take some time before he can start working again, and unfortunately, he hasn’t been approved for disability yet.

Right now, the biggest concern is the growing number of bills that aren’t covered by insurance. It’s becoming a real struggle for Farrukh and his family, and they’re finding it hard to keep up. They’ve always been the type to help others, so it’s difficult for them to ask for assistance now, but I thought I’d reach out on their behalf.

Help Save Farrukh Ashraf's Cobbler Shop and Support His Recovery

Dear Friends and Community,

For over 25 years, Farrukh Ashraf, a dedicated and skilled cobbler, has been a beloved fixture in our Columbus neighborhood. His small shoe repair shop has been more than just a business; it has been a place of warmth, stories, and community spirit. Farrukh's exceptional craftsmanship and kind heart have touched many lives, making his shop a local treasure.

On April 23rd, tragedy struck. Farrukh suffered four heart attacks and underwent four bypass surgeries over April 23rd and 24th. He is now in critical condition, on ECMO for heart and lung support, a tracheostomy for breathing, and dialysis for kidney failure. Farrukh is in a coma, heavily sedated, fighting for his life.

His beloved cobbler shop, which has stood as a symbol of dedication and community for decades, is now closing. The future of the shop is uncertain without Farrukh, and the loss is deeply felt by all who know him.
