Help support Courtney and her family

My name is Clint, and I am writing on behalf of my sister, Courtney, and her family.

On Friday, February 16th, my younger sister went in for an x-ray due to pain in her left knee. The result of the x-ray led to an MRI and something no one was prepared for - there is a mass in her leg that looks like it could be cancerous. Courtney and her husband, Anthony, were devastated. Since that day, Courtney has undergone numerous tests (biopsy, pet scan, bone scan, etc.) by her doctors here in Syracuse and received a second opinion at Dana Farber who specializes in this type of cancer. Now, a few weeks later, the doctors confirmed- Courtney has a rare cancer known as Ewings Sarcoma.

Courtney has been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in her left leg, which is a rare and aggressive cancer that is thankfully localized to her leg. The treatment plan is an aggressive form of in-patient chemo for up to 5 days at a time, on and off for 7- 9 months. She is also scheduled to have surgery on her knee midway through her chemo treatments. The surgery plan is to remove part of her femur, insert a rod and artificial knee into her leg, and then resume chemo. With this plan, Courtney's doctor is confident that she will beat this!

At this time, we are looking for help to lighten the load for Courtney and Anthony. This is a very hard time for them, and they will have to balance being out of work and supporting their family. Courtney and Anthony have three wonderful children- Walker, 5, Bodhi, 3, and Josie, 2 months. Any donations to help support them are very appreciated so the family does not have to worry about being out of work during this time. Our family is very thankful for all of the love and support. It truly takes a village.
