Help Support Creamy Cone Cafe's Essential Upgrades

During a challenging time when many small businesses faced closure, Ashanti Mayfield and her family took a brave leap of faith by opening Creamy Cone Cafe in Rainier Beach in May 2021. Originally, Ashanti had acquired the space before the pandemic with the intention of working with clients as a licensed cosmetologist. However, as COVID-19 brought widespread shutdowns, she quickly recognized the need for change and envisioned a new purpose for the space.
Seeing the lack of family-oriented businesses in the neighborhood, Ashanti was determined to create a warm and inviting environment where families could gather and find joy. With limited start-up resources, she poured her heart into transforming the space, ensuring every visitor feels a sense of happiness and comfort as soon as they walk in.
Creamy Cone Cafe has since blossomed into a cherished community hub, proudly standing as the first Black and female-owned ice cream shop in Rainier Beach, South Seattle. Now, Ashanti is reaching out to her community for support as she faces the joys and challenges of running a business.
The current location urgently needs electrical upgrades and an air conditioning unit to ensure a comfortable atmosphere during the hot summer months. Ashanti, who cares deeply about her business, seasonal helpers, and customers, is concerned about this situation. If these improvements are not possible, she may have to consider the difficult option of relocating or focusing solely on catering and pop-up events while hoping to remain local.
To continue serving the wonderful South Seattle community that has embraced her, Ashanti is striving to raise $15,000 to cover these essential costs. Any support you can provide would mean the world to Ashanti and Creamy Cone Cafe during this trying time. Thank you to everyone who has shown love and encouragement; your kindness makes a difference.
