Help Support Dan Cleland & Family through ALS

Dear Friends,

It is with profound sadness that we write this message.

We’re reaching out to let you know that we are kicking off a campaign to help Dan Cleland, his Wife, and their two young Daughters, and we need your help!

As you may know, Dan was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, named after the famous first baseman of the New York Yankees who was diagnosed with the disease in 1939.

ALS, a rare neurological illness, affects motor neurons, the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement, like chewing, walking, and talking. The disease is aggressive, and the symptoms get worse over a short period of time.

Although ALS has no cure and there is no effective treatment to reverse its progression, however, there are new clinical trials to treat the symptoms of ALS. Unfortunately, these new treatments are costly and not covered by health insurance. It will cost Dan’s Family an estimated $150,000 to have him participate in these trials in hopes of easing his pain and improving his quality of life.

As you all know Dan is a kind-hearted man, loved by his family, friends, and co-workers. He’s always a pleasure to be around and, has always helped others when in need. We are hoping we can come together in his time of need and help Dan and his Family during this difficult ordeal.

Although the effects of this illness are devastating, the medications can help tremendously. We cannot cure Dan, but we can most certainly help ease the financial burden and resulting stress his Family is currently facing. As such, our goal is to raise the entire $150,000 for the Cleland family.
