Help Support David and Lisa DeHoyos

Lisa and David need your help for medical and home expenses following a random and horrific attack. The evening of Saturday, April 17, an individual broke into Lisa and David's home, throwing a cinder block through the glass window and climbing into the window. Upon hearing the commotion, David went downstairs to investigate, finding the individual crazed and waving a large hammer around, hitting the surrounding walls and threatening to hit him. The next events involved a physical struggle, leaving David and Lisa with multiple wounds from being hit with the hammer and David succeeding in stopping the attacker. They both sustained skull fractures, brain bleeds, and facial fractures, with David requiring surgery on his face to repair the fractures. 

Lisa and David both required four days in the hospital and have a long physical recovery ahead of them, plus mental and emotional healing. In addition, their 100-year old historic farmhouse has been under renovation, with the only complete bathroom upstairs, making it difficult for them to return home until stairs are more navigable. While renovations on the downstairs master suite have begun, they will need to be rushed to make it possible for David and Lisa to return.

Funds are needed for medical bills from the hospital stay (which are doubled), plus David's surgery, plus continuing appointments. Additional funds are needed to complete the renovations to their home earlier than expected as well as special equipment to aid in their recovery.

David and Lisa are cornerstones of their church community who would do absolutely anything for those in need, friend or stranger. They now need the help of the community that they are such an important part of.
