Help support Dr. Jodi Church and family

Friends and family are fundraising to help Jodi and Matt fund the therapies needed to heal from her peritoneal carcinomatosis cancer.

Last year, July 2023, an MRI revealed a small mass near Jodi’s pelvis. It was removed on July 27, 2023 and was determined to be cancerous, so they did a complete hysterectomy. Tests on the mass determined it was a high-grade serous carcinoma, which is a type of ovarian cancer and they determined she was stage 2. The doctor believed that she removed all of the cancer.

Blood tests at the 6 week mark revealed normal levels (14, down from 1086) so they were ecstatic about her healing and grateful for their faith (a big praise to JESUS!!!).

On July 10 of this year (2024) we found out that the cancer is back. The original diagnosis was ovarian/fallopian tube cancer, now peritoneal carcinomatosis.

From Jodi; “I know people wonder what "stage", honestly, I don't know. I am not asking or googling! But what I do KNOW is that I serve an Almighty God, that created everything with His Word. I know and believe that He is a Way-maker and a Miracle Worker. I have seen this in my family, and those of you who have known us over the years, know the stories of Matt and Isaiah - miracles!!! So, the Lord keeps reminding me of those miracles and to keep my eyes on Him.

It's hard as humans because we want to figure it all out, have a specific explanation, a plan, but God just wants me to trust him and that is where my hope is. With this news, I am going to be stepping away from practice for rest and healing. This year has had some additional stressors that I couldn't avoid, but I know that Lord works all things out for His good. I don't know when I will return yet, I am just putting one foot in front of the other right now.

We have been prayerfully seeking the Lord's path, which He has directed me to Hope4cancer in Mexico. As I think about cancer and the treatment options here, it just doesn't fit me. Is it right or wrong, who knows! But I am walking by faith and many doors have opened. This center combines many alternative therapies for healing and getting to the root cause. I am actually excited:) First, because many of you know how much I love Mexico! Secondly, there have been MANY specific signs that have given me so much peace about this decision.

I will be speaking to the doctor tomorrow to find out the complete plan and details of when Matt and I will be going. We will probably be there for 3 weeks and then visits to return for follow-up care 2 additional visits. Life is a journey we are all on and everything we go through develops us into the person God created us to be. I know confidently that He is with me and guiding me-step by step. Honestly, I wouldn’t change this journey, even though it has been tough, really tough…it has also been really good.

I am grateful for all I have learned about myself this year and drawing closer to the Lord. I have made many new friends along the way and can feel and see God’s hand in the journey. I feel SO loved and cared for, which is HARD for me to take in, as I would MUCH rather be the one loving/caring for others:)

We thank you for your generosity in raising funds to help support Jodi and her family at this difficult time.
