Supporting Ellie Alberty on her Road to Recovery
I'm reaching out to all our friends and family on behalf of Ellie Alberty, who has recently undergone a devastating injury that has turned her world upside down. Over the 4th of July holiday, Ellie suffered an extremely traumatic injury resulting in a fractured and dislocated C5 vertebrae. She had emergency surgery to realign and stabilize her spine, and is currently in Neurotrauma ICU in Springfield, MO. Ellie currently has limited movement in her arms, hands, and neck. She has yet to regain movement in her legs, but can feel the touch of her toes. Currently, there is an extensive amount of swelling around her spine due to the trauma incurred which may be limiting her feeling. Despite the immense hurdles ahead, Ellie remains resilient and determined to reclaim her life. She is already full of beautiful smiles, love, and cunning wit. However, the financial burden of medical bills, extensive long term stay at a spinal cord medical systems faculty and necessary accommodations is overwhelming.
- How You Can Help: First of all, prayers. The power of prayer is everything. Second of all, any support financially is greatly appreciated. Your donation will directly assist with medical expenses (surgeries, treatments, medications, and rehabilitation therapies), living expenses (food, rent, gas to rehab facilities, etc.), accessibility needs (adapting her living space for mobility and accessibility).
- Why Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size or even prayer, brings hope and relief to Ellie and their loved ones during this challenging time. Together, we can ease their financial burden and provide the support she needs to heal. Ellie will need months of therapy and plans on moving to Colorado or Chicago to get the best treatment from the best rehab facilities.
- Closing Thoughts: Thank you for taking time to read Ellie's story. Your kindness and generosity will make a significant impact on Ellie's journey towards recovery. Please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network to help spread their word.
I, Caleb, Ellie's boyfriend of four years am grateful for any support we can get. Our plan was for me to finish med school and continue our lives together. Obviously, our plan is on pause, however I am still hopeful for our future together no matter what that looks like. Helping Ellie heal is my first priority.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Supporters of Ellie, friends and family.
