Help Support Gabes Fight against Leukemia
Donation protected
Please help us raise funds for Gabriel as he begins his battle against Leukemia. Gabe is a good friend and colleague at St Francis Hospital. He is a recent graduate from Delaware Technical Community College's radiologic technologist program and was just beginning his career. I first met Gabe when he was an RT student doing his clinical rotations at St Francis. He truly stood out among his peers with his hard work and determination. He is kind and funny, with a smile and laugh that is
infectious to those around him. It wasn't long after his first clinical rotation that he was hired at St Francis in our transportation/escort department. He worked hard putting himself through school picking up weekend shifts and shifts between classes and clinical rotations, never shying away from a difficult task and always with a smile on.
Upon graduating, Gabe was hired on as an X-ray tech at St Francis. I personally had the privilege of training him. This allowed me to spend a lot of time with him and really got to know the kind of person he is. I was incredibly impressed, right from the start, at his motivation and eagerness to learn. Over the next month Gabriel started experiencing various ailments. He continued to work hard never complaining and always showing up with a smile on. In early March he became feverish and out of concern for his patients and others around him he stayed home. In the beginning of April with his symptoms still lingering Gabe went to ER, it was then he learned he had Leukemia. Like all other obstacles he has faced and overcome in his young life, Gabe has met this challenge head on. When I speak to Gabriel he doesn't complain. instead he inquires about his colleagues and friends, always asking how everyone is and how things are going at the hospital. A testament to his selflessness and empathy.
I understand with the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, everyone is stretched thin. Know that anything helps, if not able to make a donation please share so that others that are able to can help. Although he would be the last person to ask, I can think of know one more deserving of a helping hand in his time of need. Gabriel truly embodies his Christian Values and lives them everyday. Stay safe and God bless.
