Help support Goodsir Nature park and Jim Good!

May 28, 2023 update
Jim has had another major health setback that sent him to the hospital for a few days after what could have been a fatal infection, he now has a number of weeks of treatments to follow which require daily drives back and forth to town. Jim has had numerous health issues over the years and is very weak from these but this latest infection has had a major impact on his ability to get around, let alone to do physical work in the park. He needs your support in so many ways including what the original fundraiser was for (info below). If we can help him with some of the financial stress it will go a long way to help him on the road to recovery.

As we noted below last year park visitors and contributors are way down compared to previous years, this unfortunately is still the case today and he needs your help more than ever, he relies on park donations to help support himself and to maintain the park.

Please help Jim Good! Equipment and vehicles are breaking, and he is out of money to repair or replace them!

Goodsir Nature Park is the lifelong, nonprofit passion project of one man: Jim Good. Jim has had heart conditions for many years and relies on donations to the park to keep it running and also for his support.
The last number of years have seen fewer people out at the nature park and few people leaving donations to support it. Recently, Jim has had many things break down, including his own vehicle and lawn tractor and has no funds to continue replacing or repairing these items. Thankfully some local businesses stepped up to repair his vehicle for him after someone else scammed him but there is so much more he needs.

This past year his primary maintenance tool, his lawn tractor, broke and is no longer repairable. Without this, next spring he will not be able to continue with grass cutting at the park or maintaining it. For this item alone; a ride on mower and cart is around $4000 to $5000. Many of the items he has are getting older and will soon need replacing. Additionally, the cost of fuel to run all these items is very expensive, even at the best of times.

I am hopeful that we can help him with his current and ongoing needs as a community. Jim has spent decades developing this 160-acre nature park for the community and has dedicated his life to collecting and cataloging plant species from all over Canada and his life teaching others about them.

Let's help give back!
This go fund me account, with Jim's approval, is being administered by a long time friend of Jim's (myself: Rob Romeyn) with Michelle @ MTB Bookkeeping as my accountability partner.
