Poor Goose. We don't know exaclty what happened to him, but we know it was pretty terrible. It's likely he suffered from thermal burns (something hot was thrown on him, dumped, spilled or pressed up against him) or he had a terrible experience being thrown or dragged along asphalt.
What we are positive of- he's just a baby, between 6 months and a year and super sweet. We just can't imagine who would want to hurt any animal. And what is even more confusing is why Goose remains so sweet after the trauma he endured.
His wounds were clipped and cleaned under sedation today. We're told by our veterinarian that we're in it for the long haul with him. Goose will need his wounds cleaned and bandage changed every other day for the next 6 to 8 weeks.
We're managing his pain and he's on antibiotics to keep infection at bay and ointments to help soothe the wounds.
He went into fostercare tonight and he doesn't want to be alone- he literally won't let his foster parents out of his sight.
Send some positive healing vibes into the universe for this boy. He has tge whole Shelter staff behind him, ensuring he receives excellent care, but he can use all the help he can get.
If anyone would like to contribute to Goose's care, he and we would surely appreciate it! ❤️
