Help Support Imani & Saffron Through Preeclampsia & NICU
Donation protected
Imani Quinn, our dear friend and loved one, is most known for being a beacon of knowledge and support on all things spirituality and astrology -- sharing moon magic and retrogrades to watch out for and bringing folks together to inspire curiosity within self-exploration. And now her latest magical journey has excitingly been becoming a mother to her soon-to-be arriving baby girl, Saffron. Unfortunately in her last trimester she's been diagnosed with Preeclampsia w/ Severe Features while trying to secure housing amongst the devastating wildfire disasters here in LA. We’re so grateful that her mother, Carolyn, has thankfully been able to relocate to be with her during this difficult time, and now we’re needing your support!
Updated as of Feb 5th:
After the doctors determined it was no longer safe for Imani to remain pregnant with her elevated blood pressures and increased risks of stroke & seizure (due to her Severe Preeclampsia diagnosis), they ultimately decided to induce her labor. Imani gave birth to Saffron on January 29th at 12:56am after 2 days of laboring through a successful vaginal birth -- just in time for the Lunar New Year and New Moon in Aquarius, very auspicious!
Following Saffron was rushed to the NICU where she will reside until her original due date of 3/31/25. She is small but mighty and being cared for by a team of exceptional doctors and specialists. Imani remained in the hospital for 5 days postpartum and was discharged with two blood pressure (BP) medications to be taken 6 times daily. Her doctors are continuing to monitor her closely as her BP numbers are unfortunately still high.
After leaving the hospital, Imani and her mother were able to secure housing because of the outpouring of support from this gofundme and organizations that have stepped in to help! Imani was also able to secure 95% of Saffron’s registry with the assistance of other mothers, mama orgs, gofundme contributors, and friends who purchased from her registry. We truly cannot thank you all enough!!
One week later we’re so grateful to report that both mama and baby are safe and recovering / attempting to grow healthier and stronger every day, but the journey is not over! We need your help to make sure Imani can continue getting better while she focuses on bringing her BP levels down and working with the NICU team to bring Saffron home in the next couple of months! Imani is currently out of full-time work, and provided her postpartum health concerns and taking care of Saffron in the NICU she largely can’t work for the next few months. To continue supporting her through this time, collectively we aim to help alleviate some of the financial challenges to medical and housing expenses, as it will allow Imani to lower her stress / blood pressure levels postpartum and focus on recovering & getting Saffron to stable health throughout her NICU stay.
As a healer to so many others, we hope you can help us in turn support Imani as she continues to journey through a deeply transformative, uncertain, and magical spiritual initiation of her own into motherhood. We all thank you so very much in advance for your compassion, generosity, and for in turn, helping to make a difference in not only Imani’s life but a generation of women's lineage that are bringing in life to this world.
