Help Support Jo Ann’s Recovery After Devastating Accident

Donation protected
Dear friends & family,

I’m reaching out to you all on behalf of my oldest daughter, Jo Ann, who was involved in an accident on the morning of July 20th, 2024 while I was at work. Jo Ann, who is also deaf, was hit head-on by a vehicle that didn’t see her as she was crossing a crosswalk on her way to work. Thankfully, Jo Ann’s kind coworkers were there to help & also went out of their way to go to Jo Ann & my son's home where they live to inform him about the accident as soon as possible and inform us on what hospital she was airlifted to.

This devastating accident has left my Jo Ann with several life-threatening injuries as she was dragged by the driver as well. So far she’s had to undergo emergency surgery to get her spleen and three teeth removed.
Currently:
  • She’s heavily sedated in the ICU and intubated with a chest tube.
  • Has rib fractures that punctured one of her lungs.
  • Has fractures on her spine and left hip.
  • Surgery will be needed for her left eye and upper lip.
  • & other future surgeries & physical therapy will be needed.

It’s still too early to know how long she may be in the hospital and how long recovery may take, but she’s no longer going to be able to care for herself and do daily tasks alone for a while. Even though she works, I still help her out financially as well, as she is deaf and needs extra assistance. My family & I want to be home to be able to help her out with her recovery & take care of her without the added stress of the financial strain of her medical care, surgeries, ongoing treatment, as well as our monthly expenses and hers as well, especially since it won’t be easy for her given her disability. While it’s never easy to reach out for help especially financially, this is something my family & I unfortunately can’t do alone this time so I’m reaching out to ask for the support of family, friends, and the community. Any donations would be greatly appreciated & all donations will go towards Jo Ann’s recovery as well as monthly living necessities. We’re hoping and praying for a speedy recovery and that she can go back to her normal life very soon as Jo Ann loves to be independent, loves working & loves to be able to do daily things for herself on her own. Any kind words, positive thoughts & prayers are very much appreciated as well!

Thank you all so much for the love & support!
