Help support JoAnne Garlock

As a wife, mother, daughter, and nurse, JoAnne Garlock has always been dedicated to caring for her family and patients. As difficult as it is for her to change roles and ask for help, she is the one needing care and support now.
At the beginning of January, JoAnne went into the ER with severe abdominal pain. After tests and imaging, she was diagnosed with appendicitis and sent home with antibiotics. The plan was, after a course of antibiotics, to safely remove her appendix. Unfortunately weeks and weeks past and the antibiotics weren't working.
After more rounds of testing and imaging, JoAnne found out in March that she was not dealing with a painfully stubborn appendicitis, but she actually has aggressive stage 3 colon cancer. On April 4th, JoAnne went into surgery to remove a large tumor, the right side of her colon, and part of her abdominal wall. Since then she has met her oncologists and is now starting her chemo course (which will be twice as long as originally anticipated).
JoAnne is the mother of two young kids. She was working full-time to support her family, but has been unable to work since her first trip to the ER in January. Lack of income, coupled with medical expenses piling up, has taken it's toll financially. JoAnne's family is now struggling to pay their monthly bills. She is eager to get back to work to help support her family but unfortunately she has to remain home (per her doctor's orders) until she's fully recovered from surgery and is tolerating her chemo treatments. This could mean several more months without income.
The goal of this page is to raise enough money to help ease the financial strain that JoAnne and her family are experiencing. Her time and energy could then be spent focusing on healing and completing her treatment, not worrying about being able to pay rent or affording her chemo medications.
JoAnne would be one of the first to offer help to her friends or family. I hope we can all be there for her now. Even a small donation would help. Thank you for your support and generosity.
*As a coworker and friend, I have set up this page for JoAnne to take some of the burden/tasks off of her. She will be the only person to access and withdraw donations as needed.
