Help support Jornaleros as they face hardship

Hi friends and community ,

Fundraising monetary support for some of my talented and lovely actors to support them in their journey as jornaleros and domestic workers in the city of Angels.

Don Zapata lost his truck at the end of the year, an integral part of his livelihood.

Barrio had his truck stolen along with all his tools. He was able to recover his truck, but not his tools.

La Chapis lost domestic work as a result of the devastating fires in Altadena.

Additionally they have shown their support as volunteers at the Pasadena Job Center post fire recovery efforts.

I am an LA based filmmaker and thanks to the National Day Laborers Organizing network, I had the opportunity and privilege of working with them on a short film last year, TROKAS DURAS, a love letter to the jornalero and immigrant community in LA. ✨

The film premiered at Sundance film festival this year, and won the Short Film Jury Award for Best US Fiction !

We are so excited about the way the film is touching people, and I hope you can extend a little monetary help to honor the hard work of our actors as they struggle with work.

They have so far received 2k each! But let's show them we can support them even more:)

Funds will go directly to the actors to help them cover living costs.
