I am starting this GoFundMe page for Josh my son-in-law, and his family. Josh and Ashley just celebrated 22 years of marriage. They have 3 incredible children who have grown up watching their dad fight this disease. For the past 10 years I’ve watched them bravely walk through this battle with IgA nephropathy. This is a disease that slowly destroys the kidneys. Josh has been on the transplant list for the past 2 years and is still waiting on a kidney donor. He is currently at stage 5 kidney failure and has less than 12% total kidney functioning. This process has had a financial impact on the family, and the medical bills have been slowly piling up. -Pre-transplant cost evaluation $5000

-Ongoing Pre-transplant blood work and medical visits are over $2700 as of May

-Monthly blood test for transplant center $1600

-Kidney transplant medication cost will be between $1500-$2500 per month

-Ashley has been recently notified that her insurance will no longer cover partial pay for the 12 weeks that she will be taking care of Josh after the transplant surgery

When Josh receives his transplant He will be out of work for 12 weeks.

Although Josh does have medical insurance, the out-of-pocket cost per year will be $10,000.

This has added to the stress of an already financially difficult situation. We are hopeful and praying that he receives a kidney within the next few months. They are incredibly grateful for any help you are able to give.
