In November of 2024, Julie's life took an unexpected and terrifying turn. While experiencing undiagnosed pain and the finding of a mass in her right breast, Julie began her battle with countless investigations.

The finding was devastating. Metastatic Breast cancer (MBC) also known as stage IV or advanced breast cancer was the diagnosis. MBC occurs when breast cancer spreads from the breast to other part of the body. MBC is incurable and would now become her main focus for the future. While new treatments are becoming available, response rates vary with each individual. The median survival with MBC is approximately 2.5 years depending on the subtype, treatment and overall health.

For those of us that know and love Julie, we all have experienced her support, kindness and comedy. Julie is a radiant soul with a gentle heart, always putting everyone before herself. While this disease is going to impact all of her Family and Friends, this is in fact a solitary illness that Julie has to battle every single day.

This unknown journey comes with overwhelming challenges. Julie faces a long road ahead; physically, emotionally and financially.
