Help support Kaitlin's fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Jenn Morris (dear friend of Amber) and Michelle Amyotte-Kupusa (Amber’s cousin).
We would like to introduce you to Kaitlin Coghlan (Amber Cardinal and Derek Coghlan daughter), she is 12 years old and the second oldest of 4 children.
This past week has been a roller coaster of emotions for the family. Earlier in the week, they found numerous marks on Kaitlin’s body which they thought were some sort of bites. On Wednesday evening when Kaitlin was brushing her hair, she discovered a large lump on the back of her head, which wasn’t there in the morning. At that time, Kaitlin was then taken to the emergency by her father where they did a CT scan and x-rays, she was then admitted and transferred to the pediatric ward. More tests were completed in the next couple days, at which time they were informed on Friday that Kaitlin has cancer.
Friday night, Kaitlin spent the evening with her siblings before she had to leave the next morning. Saturday morning at 4:30 am, Amber and Kaitlin were airlifted to the Jim Patterson children’s hospital in Saskatoon. Later that morning they did a full body scan where it was identified she has a mediastinal mass on her chest and lymphoma in her neck.
Amber and Kaitlin will remain at the hospital until she can undergo surgery and treatment. The family is hoping to know more on Monday (November 13th) after they see the surgeon to determine the type of cancer and when they can start the surgery and treatment.
Now there will be a lot of unforeseeable expenses, such as the air ambulance, lodging, travel, meals, bills, lost wages etc. The family needs to focus on Kaitlin’s health and getting her better, therefore we are setting up this go fund me page to help defray some of the costs. We hope you can assist by donating. We know times are tough for many, so if you can’t donate, please send your prayers to help Kaitlin with the biggest battle of her life. No 12 year old, or any child for that matter should have to go through this.
Please keep Kaitlin and her family in your prayers and we thank you for your donation. WE LOVE YOU KAITLIN!
