Help Support Keyra’s Fight for Life!!

On last Friday, March 8th, 9 year old Keyra Camarena suddenly suffered a stroke while face timing her father, who was visiting family in California.

Keyra suffered immediate paralysis to the right side of her body and was unable to walk or talk. Her mother rushed her to the nearest hospital in their home town of Vicent Gurrero, Baja California. Keyra was later transported to a hospital in the city of Ensenada.

Keyra was diagnosed with a serious and life threatening bleed deep in the left lobe of her brain. Prior to this incident she was very healthy and active with no injuries that could be attributed to this condition.

Keyra is currently in an induced coma in the ICU unit of the hospital and on a respirator. The current treatment plan is to try to reduce the swelling, and relieve the pressure on the brain by use of medication. If that is unsuccessful then surgically attempt to alleviate the pressure.

We would like to raise money to help pay for the medical bills and expenses needed to allow her family to be by her side while she fights for her life. When she recovers, the money raised will also go toward the long road ahead, including physical therapy, speech therapy, travel expenses, and to help alleviate financial burden for her parents due to not being able to work.

We are truly grateful for any financial support given, as well as prayers and encouragement for the family as they go through this incredibly difficult time. All funds will be transferred to Howard and Deanna Leslie (Keyra’s “adopted American grandparents”) to be given to Yoan Camarena and Lilly Vargas (Keyra’s parents) to aid in Keyra’s fight and recovery!!
