Help support Kim Bishop during cancer journey
Kim is one of the 3 administrators for DVMoms- Life in the Trenches, and that’s how I was lucky enough to meet her. She’s an all around great human, mom, wife and veterinarian. She allows us to have a forum to meet other vet moms and vent and post and laugh and learn. I am so grateful for the space.
She was diagnosed in early November with stage 2 breast cancer. She had an excisional biopsy earlier this month but margins were not clear. Kim will have an additional surgery on Wednesday, December 2nd and will likely stay overnight. She will be off work while she recovers from surgery.
Once pathology and genetic tests results are
back, a chemotherapy plan will be decided upon and started. While she undergoes chemotherapy (vascular access port already in place) she will be off work some as well. The time off work will depend on the frequency and duration of chemotherapy as well as how she feels afterwards.
I’d love to help her and her family with this financial burden so she can focus on recovery and healing.
Thanks for your support of Kim,
Emily Marhevsky Spingler
