Help Support Kristina Sandoval in Her Fight Against Stage 4

Dear Friends and Community Members,

Today, I reach out with a heavy heart on behalf of a cherished member of our community, Kristina Sandoval, a devoted single mother and a dedicated worker at Head Start in Tri-Cities, Washington. Kristina has been a pillar in helping children and families receive crucial services for nearly a decade.

In July of last year, what was supposed to be a routine appendix surgery for Kristina unfolded into a much graver health battle. Despite the surgery, the pain persisted, leading to months of tests and uncertainty. By November, her condition worsened significantly, leading to another surgery and the dire discovery of cancer cells during a routine biopsy. The diagnosis was Stage 2 Colon Cancer, a battle fierce enough, but by January, her situation escalated to Stage 4 after continuous infections and complications.

Kristina, a fighter at heart and a beacon of hope for her three young children, ages 11, 5, and 2, has faced these unimaginable hardships with profound courage and faith. Her condition necessitates ongoing medical attention, including a forthcoming surgery by a Surgical Oncologist in Spokane, which entails frequent travel and significant medical expenses.

As Kristina braces for her upcoming surgery and ongoing chemotherapy treatments, the financial and emotional strain on her family is overwhelming. In partnership with Moe Soeum, the owner of Moe Pho - Noodles & Cafe, and Gustabo Torres, a local barber in Pendleton, OR and the father of her son, we are launching a fundraising campaign.

This initiative aims to provide crucial support for Kristina's escalating medical expenses, travel costs for treatments, and other care-related expenditures, ensuring she can focus on her battle with cancer without the added stress of financial hardship.
