Help support Lacey's ongoing therapies

Hi everyone, I'm creating this Go Fund Me on behalf of my beloved friends, Carly and James and their little miracle Lacey.

During pregnancy it was discovered that Lacey has Hydrocephalus; a condition that causes cerebrospinal fluid build up in the brain and that it was unlikely she wouldn't make it to her first birthday, if she even survived birth at all. Lacey then had a stroke, causing severe damage to her already compromised brain. Since birth Lacey has endured 6 life saving brain surgeries where surgeons put shunts in her brain that drain and redirect the fluid buildup from her brain.

Fast forward to today, Lacey is doing amazing in her journey and is becoming a little lady right in front of our eyes - almost 3 years old! Although she has come so far and blows us away everyday, she continues to have complications with her Hydrocephalus, as well as Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy, which impact Lacey's ability to move her muscles which mean sitting, crawling and standing are impossible without lots of intensive therapy and treatment. Lacey also has a Cortical Visual Impairment which adds to the challenges faced by Lacey and her family.

Lacey receives NDIS funding which helps cover the costs of her various treatments and therapies, however there are many things that cannot be covered, meaning Carly and James pay out of pocket to get the best outcomes for their brave little girl. Lacey requires mobility devices to assist with standing, sitting, feeding and bathing as well as special sensory toys to play and learn with due to her vision impairment, which are all extremely costly. As Lacey gets bigger there will also be costs associated with modifying her home to be accessible and disability friendly.

Most recently Lacey was accepted into a 4 week intensive therapy at NAPA who specialise in helping children with neurological and developmental needs. Here Lacey made immense progress. This therapy however could not be covered by NDIS, meaning the family paid $5000 out of pocket for Lacey to attend. It would mean so much to me and everybody who loves this little lady if we could help raise some money to ease the financial pressure on the family and help Lacey continue to light up our worlds. Times are tough at the moment for everybody but if you are in a position to donate, every little bit counts.
