Help Support Laquata's Battle With Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Laquata Fonder, my coworkers and residents may know me as LaLa. I’ve spent the majority of my life working in assisted living homes doing activities with, cooking for, and caring for the elderly. I have an intelligent, respectful teenage daughter that is my life and motivation.
In 2019, my life changed dramatically. I was informed that I had a large mass in my right breast and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer that needed to be removed right away.
This required surgery to remove the mass as well as my breast. In 2021, I was diagnosed with cancer again, this time in my right armpit. After surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and
reconstructive surgery on my breast, I was informed that I was now cancer free and I had finally beat it!
I officially celebrated my victory in February of 2023 believing that everything was returning to normal but just a few short months later my life changed drastically once again. In July of this year, I received the worst news I could have ever imagined. I was informed that the cancer had returned, now in my liver and is terminal. I was given an average expectancy of 10-12 months to live.
Under the instruction of my Dr I immediately started aggressive chemotherapy and am now preparing to leave my place of employment. This is exceptionally hard on me as I’ve always been very independent and dedicated to my work, at times working multiple jobs up to seven days a week to help provide for myself and my daughter.
Although it is extremely difficult for me to do so, it was at this point that I realized I need to ask for help from my friends, family and community in my time of need. People that know me know that I have always had a kind heart and cared for and helped others to the best of my ability, but now I’m asking for your help. Any and all donations are so much appreciated and will be directly used to help relieve the financial stress of monthly bills, maintaining a household, supplements, and/or any treatments that may help me to live longer, more comfortably and ultimately be here for my daughter.
I would also like to say thank you in advance for any contributions you are able to make, prayers/thoughts that are given, and/or sharing of my page, it means so much to me!
