Hiya!, I’m Bell I’m looking to raise money to help to go to towards our beloved doggie Lexi. Im a first time mummy to our beautiful 6 month old little girl Elsie, we currently only have one wage coming in and my maternity allowance… we are unfortunately going to struggle to pay the balance of lexis vet bills after the insurance pays out what they cover!
Lexi is a beautiful 4 Year Old FrenchBull Dog with a lot of character and mischief and is a big part of our family along with her other fury friend Ronnie who is missing her deeply!

On the 6/05/2024 we noticed a change is Lexis behaviour we noticed she was wobbling when she was walking and had her head tilted to one side, she was shaking in pain, we kept an eye on her for an hour or so as we thought she may have just pulled a muscles and little did we know she would get worse, Lexi lost all movement in her front legs and was unable to stand and walk, this resulted us frantically phoning the out of hours vets on a bank holiday Monday in pure panic and she was rushed straight there with a suspected slipped disk high up in her spine ( which is very common in particular kinds of breeds )
Lexi stayed at her local vets overnight with lots of medication to help with the pain,we were due to pick her up in the morning and take her to a specialist veterinary practice in Kendal. On the morning of our arrival to the vets Lexis breathing had taken a turn for the worst and was struggling to breathe, luckily as soon as we got to Kendal they took her straight in and put her on a ventilator to make sure she was getting enough oxygen. Lexi was in a critical state, they managed to get her stable and took her in for scans which confirmed she had a slipped disk in her neck, she was taken for surgery shortly after to remove the disk which had managed to move its way round and put pressure on her airways!!, the vets were shocked by the situation as this isn't too common, they were very optimistic about how well lexi would recover. We prayed so much that she would make it through the night, Lexi was in her own oxygen tent for two days to support her breathing and give her the best chance. thankfully lexi is now in kennels and is improving ever so slowly and with feelings back in her legs and physio being started shortly we hope she will be home with her family soon as the house has been so quiet even with a 6 month old!, we just love her so much! Dogs aren’t just pets they are your whole world and the best supportive fury friends!

We honestly would love it If you can please donate to help our family at this difficult time!
