UPDATE:
The ramp was built today!!! ♿️
4 guys came to here house to make it happen!!! ❤️ So much hearties!!! (Pictures are below the story!!!)
Now we are working towards a stair lift!!! She hasn’t been upstairs since March. . Please share! Please donate If you feel led!
The reason: Here’s Lori’s story…
It was March 5th, 2024 and although the snow has stopped falling there was shoveling to be done. Lori went outside (leaving her phone in the house) around 9:30am and started to shovel the driveway. She didn't feel quite right so she headed back inside but didn't quite make it. She fell to the ground from a brain bleed, caused by a cluster of blood vessels that had ruptured. She laid there in the snow until around 2:30pm when her neighbor heard some groaning. Unfortunately Lori was home alone that day because her husband was working out of town. The neighbor that found her called 911 and she was rushed to Kootenai ER by ambulance. After she was somewhat stabilized they air-lifted her to Sacred Heart Hospital where her husband was able to meet up with her there.
The next few days were a blur as the ICU prepared her for brain surgery and all the tests to support her AVM stroke.
MANY miracles have been revealed through this very challenging time but the fact that she is alive and talking is one of the biggest!
Lori went from ICU, to a regular hospital room, to a skilled nursing facility to rehab and finally home on May 9th.
Before this accident, Lori had a very demanding full-time job, working from home. She has since been let go (unemployed) because she is disabled and not able to do what her job requires.
Jason, her husband, has been so diligent jn taking care of her...basically on his own while working his full time job out of the house as well.
Lori is paralyzed on her right side and confined to a wheelchair. Her bedroom and shower are located upstairs where she has no access. Jason has been able to obtain a hospital bed for the living room and a portable shower set-up for the kitchen. She doesn't have an easy way in & out of the house so a few of us have organized to build a wheelchair ramp for her.
A lot has changed in Lori's life...physically, financially and independently. Things have also changed for Jason as he has so graciously taken on her care.
I have started this GoFundMe for Lori to help with the material costs of the ramp and if there is extra, her medical bills. Please consider donating to this gracious strong-willed and determined woman! She's so young (56 years old) and still has so much life to live. I'm so grateful to be related to her as she continues to show me examples of what hard work, staying focused and having hope looks like!!
Thank you for whatever gift you are able to give!
