Help Support Maria Kaese’s Stroke Recovery Journey!

We would like to share the story of our sister and cousin, Maria Kaese. She is the beloved wife to Kenneth Kaese and mum to Serena and Tureia and his wife Elaine and grandmother to her heart, Piripi. She is loved by her friends, extended family as well as many in the Goldfields community. Maria can often be found volunteering her time to various sporting organisations as well as her church and giving service to those in need. Those that know her can attest to her cheeky wit, beautiful laugh, fighting spirit and her big heart.

In the early hours of March 25th, Maria suffered a sudden and severe stroke that left us all in shock and uncertainty. The doctors delivered the heartbreaking news that Maria might not make it. But being the fighter that she is, Maria defied all odds and emerged from the critical phase, determined to keep fighting.

Maria’s road to recovery is going to be long and challenging. The stroke has affected her mobility and speech, and she will require extensive therapy and medical care in the coming months in Perth, 600km away from her home in Kalgoorlie. Then, 11 days later, her older sister passed away in New Zealand. These sudden and unexpected events have not only taken an emotional toll on her family but also a financial one. Despite our best efforts, the financial burden is overwhelming.

As Maria focuses on her recovery, we are turning to our community for support. Your contribution will directly assist in easing the everyday financial burden on the family, so that they can concentrate on caring for and being with Maria . More importantly, it will provide them with the peace of mind that they need at this challenging time.
