Hello, I am Olivia and I am raising a fund for my father who has been fighting an aggressive cancer.

Some of you may have been lucky enough to know my dad, and know how much of a good man he is. For those who don’t know him, he is a hard working family man who has done everything and anything for his family and friends. He is the type of person who will give his last $10 to you when you need it, even when it’s out of his pocket, he knows he is doing his part in helping that person out.

Mid 2022, he was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that doctors cannot identify. Our family have gone through so many paths of treatment, chemotherapy, radiation, medications, and surgeries to stop the cancer from progressing through his body. This year in May, he started a trial that we hoped would stop the cancer from progressing and shrink it down. Unfortunately, after 6 weeks on the trial, dad did a scan and found the cancer has spread more throughout his body and the trial was unsuccessful.

After many doctor’s appointments, surgeries, medical bills, and other complications, we still keep a positive outlook on life, especially my dad. He is our rock and our strength, during this challenging time. Financially, this has been a struggle especially on my mum as she is now needing to take time off work to become dads carer. Going through the application process of getting disability pension and carers allowance, the funds will not be able to cover for dad’s medical needs and pay off bills we need to pay. The last 2.5 years have been the most challenging that our family has gone through after having my brother and grandfather also going through cancer treatment in the past.

As a daughter, it is hard seeing a parent struggle in this condition, when needing support to shower, walk, and do everyday tasks that he is unable to do independently.
