Help Support Marlene's Trip to the Mayo Clinic

This is my best friend (and pretty much sister) who is currently suffering with undiagnosed bowel issues. In 2023, she had 4 surgeries due to internal hernias and bowel blockages. In December of 2023, they resected most of her colon, thinking that would take care of the problems she had been having.

Fast forward to 2024. She had a hospital stay at the end of May, and then twice in June. The most recent hospital stay was June 21st, where she spent 18 days in the hospital. She is now home and is doing TPN (provides nutrients and calories that she needs), as she gets nauseated a lot and thus isn't able to eat much. She has been referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Her appointment is scheduled for August 5th.

Along with her medical issues, her daughter is struggling with issues of her own. She recently travelled to Kansas City to visit a surgeon for her 7th knee surgery. She is now in recovery and doing well, however this trip also came with it’s own travel and medical expenses.

Fortunately, Marlene has been given the opportunity to visit the Mayo Clinic in hopes of finding a concrete diagnosis and receiving the help that she needs. She will be staying at the Mayo Clinic for a minimum of 5-7 days, as well as 2 days driving there and back. Her and her husband will leave on August 3rd to make the drive there. With the travel and medical treatment come expenses, and any amount will bring them further towards the goal of finding a diagnosis for Marlene. Donations will go towards fuel, food, housing, and medical expenses.
