Help support me through my cancer journey

Hey everyone, my name is Magdalena! I was diagnosed with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia on May 25,2022. A couple months later on August 25th, 2022, I received my stem cell transplant. I was cancer free, until my bone marrow biopsy this past August 2023 showed evidence of minimal residual disease. We hoped that a small dose of chemotherapy would eradicate it but unfortunately it is still increasing. I received devastating news from my oncologist that a second transplant would be my last chance at a cure. Currently I am scheduled to begin my 3rd cycle of chemo after Christmas, in hopes to keep the cancer from spreading any further. I need to be given a second stem cell transplant, as soon as possible due to how aggressive and fast my cancer is. That being said, my insurance is denying my second transplant at my current hospital, UCI Medical Center. My team is doing their best to appeal the decision so I can go through the transplant as soon as possible. If denied, I would have to travel farther to City of Hope or UCLA where there is a possibility I might not be able to receive a stem cell transplant. This can further delay treatment.

We had hoped that cancer was behind us. We were not prepared to go through this again. The first time, I was able to receive charity through the hospital and I had my disability. I was extremely lucky so we were not as stressed out. This time around it is harder since charity is not an option anymore and my disability has not been approved. I will not be able to work for another year due to being immunocompromised. My family has helped me through the course of the year but we do need extra help and support now. Which is why I am asking If you are able to donate, it would go to bills, transportation/gas/necessities and other medical bills. Anything would be an immense help to relieve the financial stress my family and I are experiencing at the moment. Thank you so much for taking the time to read.
