Help Support Michael Stanley's Surgery & Rehab
Donation protected
On December 21st, 2020, our father, Michael 'Mickey' Stanley had a serious freak car accident in Barbados. He was trapped underneath the car and it took more than two hours for emergency services to free him from the wreckage and pull him up with a pulley system. He is now in hospital, immobilized, with a fractured pelvis, a hairline fracture of his vertebrae and face lacerations. We are awaiting further tests, consults and diagnoses. He requires major (possible multiple) surgeries, extensive rehabilitation and wheelchair accessible renovations to the house. The car is totaled and has been left overturned in a gulley, insurance will not cover a replacement car, nor most of the medical expenses. His wife Maggie is all alone and stranded without a car, trying to support him. Due to COVID, she can only see him for 15 minutes a day. He is all alone, tied down and unable to move, suffering in pain. We are left helpless, unable to support him and Maggie the way they need and are reaching out to friends and family for support to help cover the medical expenses, rehabilitation costs and equipment, wheelchair friendly renovations and possibly emergency medical flights back to Canada. We welcome everyone's prayers and well wishes. We have set up an e-card for everyone to please sign, to share with Dad once he is stable. https://www.groupgreeting.com/sign/b33285576e7e8be
