My daughters breast cancer journey continues…

My daughter has been off fighting breast cancer now for 3 years, she is a single parent and was finally at a point to preparing to return to work after a 10 week re-conditioning with her physio but migraines kept getting worse and after pushing for a brain MRI they found a mass by her occipital lobe. They are sending her for more tests to make sure it isn’t anywhere else in her body. On TOP of that Canada post is on strike and the corporation has CUT her benefits which covers meds and therapies etc - please help if you can and please keep send your positive vibes / prayers her way. I wish I could do more but her family is over 2000 km away and I have had health issues myself. Thanks for any support you could give her at this time. She needs to be here for her 4 boys
I am seeking support for my daughter Catherine who was diagnosed with breast cancer. In March 2021, after she had started chemotherapy and her long beautiful hair started falling out, she did what most cancer fighters do, she shaved her head completely. Her son showed his love and support for his mom by shaving his head too. Today, after 2 years of treatment and surgeries, she is still smiling and her hair is growing back. And with 8 rounds of chemo, a mastectomy and breast reconstruction, 26 rounds of radiation, 14 Kadcyla infusions (chemo and herceptin), and multiple revisions under her belt, she still has one more upcoming surgery to face along with some spots recently found. It has been a long arduous road but throughout, Catherine never lost her faith and her joie de vivre. However, some hardships still persist. I’ve provided as much assistance and support as I can but I’m a senior living on a fixed income and we live 3000 km apart. She moved out west and away from family shortly after her marriage to a Winnipeg native. Sadly, the marriage fell apart and because the boys were in school and had friendships, she stayed. But that meant she had no immediate family close by. Today, she continues her struggle to survive and meet her commitments on a reduced salary. Catherine’s long-term disability payments are approx 60% of her previous income, and has meant that over the last 2 years, her savings are fully depleted. As a single parent with 2 children still at home, it’s been a challenge to care for them. All of us can empathize with spiralling costs of living, increased taxes and skyrocketing food prices. But Catherine has never given up hope nor stopped doing the best she can to provide for them. She’s an excellent cook and adept at stretching and maximizing her food budget money. My grandsons are happy, healthy and growing by leaps and bounds But the months ahead are going to be extra stressful. If you can help in any way, please know she will pay it forward as soon as she is fully back on her feet. There are times when despite the belt tightening and the budget stretching, she barely makes ends meet. Any amount offered would be most appreciated and graciously accepted. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
