Hi everyone, I’m asking for your support in fundraising for my 5 year old French Bulldog, Loki. Almost two months ago Loki started showing signs of hind limb weakness, difficulty jumping onto furniture, dragging his hind legs while walking and runnings, and slow reaction times to fixing abnormal positions in his back legs. Because of this, I thought it was best to seek veterinary care. That was when I was informed that Loki definitely has partial loss of sensation in his hind legs. After a regular neurological exam at the Vet, I was told that Loki could have this loss of sensation due to Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), or other possible spinal issues (or tumor) commonly associated in Frenchies that eventually lead to paralysis. The ways to get a proper diagnosis and course of action for Loki are through an MRI, CT scan, genetic testing, biopsies, and of course more neurological exams. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, a possible course of action depending on the outcome would be surgery (or surgeries), physical therapy, and/or medication to make sure he continues with the best possible quality of life and recovery path. That being said, all of this comes with high cost and as I am still working through college and paying for school, I cannot cover even a fraction of this cost on my own. I want nothing more than for Loki to have the best chance at the rest of his life, whether that is one year, five or ten. As long as he has a chance at a good quality of life, I will not stop fighting for him. Loki was a gift from someone who could no longer care for him and at only 7 months old, he was welcomed and loved deeply. He loves running, loves playing, eating and walking. He loves meeting new people and is incredibly goofy and lovable. He is a protector, always.
I would greatly appreciate any donation that could aid Loki in having the best shot at life and proper course of action into a path of recovery. As a dog who did not ask to be in this world and situation, I fully believe he deserves the best chance at living a life where he is immensely loved and cared for. ❤️
