Support My Grad School & Care Fund

Hey Hi Everyone!
My name is Ashabi! I'm a queer Nigerian-American artist, organizer & activist in Chicago and I'm putting myself out there to ask for some assistance! Emotionally, mentally & financially this year has been very difficult for me. In March, I left/was let go from my job due to racial discrimination, from my managers all the way up to the CEO of the company. Everything I had lined up after to keep me afloat essentially fell through due to Covid-19 but I've been saving everything I have to make things work from that time until now.
Before this situation happened, I applied and was accepted into grad school at RU in the Fall of 2020 for the Clinical and Mental Health Program! It has been my DREAM to not only get into this program but to also start my journey towards becoming a Psychologist, working with & supporting people who look like me as well as other marginalized identities and creating safe spaces for those people to grow.
Unfortunately, grad school is Very expensive & I'm in a place where, without an assistantship, can't afford to pay tuition. I'm hoping to not only raise money to cover those costs as well as [due to no insurance or a job] have funds allocated towards housing security & therapy costs.
Doing this wasn't easy. As a Black Woman, I'm used to being the one with open arms, helping everyone I can, while also sacrificing/putting my own needs on the back burner. But, I hope that my doing this will put me in a more secure position which will allow me to finally focus on myself & put all my energy into accomplishing one of my lifelong goals.
Whatever is sent my way to fund this, I will be incredibly grateful for. If you can't donate, please share so others are able to!
Please keep showing up for & supporting Black & Brown Queer/Trans people.
Please keep showing up for & supporting Black Queer/Trans Women.
Thank you so much to those who help in any way.

Final Note: I'm still, very much, looking for a job. Focusing more on modeling/brand work, photography, social media management & can provide my resume upon request. If you have any leads, sending them my way would be incredibly appreciated.
