For those of us who are Jews, we’ve been taught to never let anything like the Holocaust happen again. With ICE and police forces collaborating to terrorize our communities, with racist and unjust policies targeting every move we make, and with our country's long history of forcible removal and enslavement of human beings, we know that the time to fight back started before we were born. We stand in a legacy of Jewish resistance that took risks to say no. We stand together saying Never Again for anyone.
The goals of Never Again: Alamance are clear:
- End the $2.3 million contract between ICE and racist Sheriff Terry Johnson
- Expose ICE operations right here in our community
- Support ongoing immigrant justice work by Alamance organizers
- Follow in the wave of Jewish and immigrant communities demanding dignity not deportation, an end to unjust incarceration, and documents for all
This event is led by those who have a history of family detention, deportation, and execution, but we hope that all who oppose the ICE deportation/incarceration machine will attend and support us!
