Help support Nikki as she battles brain cancer!

Hi! My name is Nikki (Terzis) Ackerman and I am a married mother of three. On my middle child’s graduation day, instead of watching him throw his cap, I was in the hospital being diagnosed with brain cancer. I’m a writer but this was one story I did not see coming. We all have someone we love who has faced cancer, but I never thought it would be me. Prior to this devastating news, I was active and busy working, volunteering, and raising mine and my husband Rick’s children. Our oldest, Hunter, is on the autism spectrum and I have always been his primary caretaker, supporting him in everything he does from college to work to daily living. Due to vision deficits from the brain surgery I had a week after diagnosis, I can’t drive or work at the moment. I am undergoing chemotherapy and radiation and our family is being inundated with medical bills. Rick’s job as a nurse is our sole income and though he works long hours, the financial stress is great. Beyond that, the doctors have said my type of brain cancer is a lifelong fight so although we believe in God and miracles as well as traditional medicine, we feel we need to look into further treatments for long-term success. I hate asking for help, but my children, especially Hunter, need their mother around, so we are humbly asking for your assistance with donations. Thank you very much.
