Help Support Nina's Road to Recovery!

My name is Betty, I am Nina's mom. Thank you all so much for your support -- your words of encouragement, meal drop-offs, prayers, donations, and outpouring of love has been overwhelming and incredibly touching to us in this terrible time for our family. We don't have our family in town, but your support makes us feel like we are not alone. Thank you so much for your kindness and care. Here is our story:

On Thursday evening, 14-year-old Nina was struck by a driver in a pickup truck while out running on Bear Creek Parkway near Bear Creek Park in Keller. As a dedicated student athlete, Nina was pursuing her passion for running and training to join the Keller High School cross-country team when this devastating accident occurred.

Now, facing a brain injury and multiple fractures (including both femurs, her knee, and multiple parts of her pelvis), her road to recovery will be long (doctors estimate at least a year). Nina and her family need the community’s support more than ever.

We're rallying together to provide financial assistance for Nina's medical bills, rehabilitation, and ongoing care. Additionally, we aim to support her family during this challenging time, alleviating the financial burden they face in caring for Nina and ensuring she receives the best possible treatment. Nina's parents will need to take an unknown amount of time off of work to be there with her every step of the way and take care of their other three boys. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping Nina heal and hopefully enable her to return to running one day.

She remains in the hospital in critical condition and will undergo her first surgery Friday, but the driver who hit her was arrested. Let's come together as a community to show our love and support for Nina during this challenging time.
