Hi my name is Lol
I am Supporting a fundraiser for one of our closest friends Noodles (Darryl) as well as his Wife Rhylee and Daughters Ellie
& baby Megaw.
As many of you may have heard, Noodles has only very recently by surprise been told that he has in fact been living with a Brain Tumour that is known to cause him to have seizures on a very regular but undetermined basis.
The Episodes he is having regularly are affecting his ability to work, he can’t drive, also to function emotionally & also a very costly exercise due to all of the medical expenses.
The tumour is located is in his Front Left Temporal lobe and it is effecting his Memory, Speech, Emotions and also Motor Skills and more recently has been told that it has grown and is mixed in with them all.
With each Seizure that Noodles it causes him to tense his whole body, lose consciousness and he also holds his breath for a prolonged period of time & often collapses to the ground which often looks like he is having a stroke and then it takes multiple days for recovery.
Noodles & Rhylee have had an overwhelming amount of messages of love and support from family, friends & can not thank you all enough.
If you can find it within your means, any financial support you may be able to contribute towards Noodles medical and their unknown future that they have ahead will be deeply appreciated and assist them immensely. And if you’re unable to contribute financially, even just sharing this within your own network would be greatly appreciated.
Your generosity will help this beautiful young family navigate the unforeseeable future, ongoing medical costs that they are going to be faced with, the girls education, and the general everyday expenses that accompany them on this uncertain road ahead.
HIS STORY
In 2016 whilst asleep Darryl had his first 30 second seizure in his unit in North Adelaide and was taken to the RAH Emergency in which the unknown was looked at….
At the RAH they did scans, such as an MRI and kept him overnight. The next day he was released and was to be referred to a neurologist for anything further.
Drs Referred him to a Neurologist who was given all information and Darryl was diagnosed with Epilepsy and had his licence suspended for 6 months.
Darryl had another seizure not much longer and the Neurologist changed his medication and his licence was this time suspended for 12 months and for someone who has a large passion for cars was an issue but he pushed through.
After pushing through the fact that he had Epilepsy and after the 12 months of no seizures he saw the Neurologist and the suspension was removed for him to drive again and Noodles lived his life as normally as possible whilst taking Epilepsy medication the only change was the dosage being increased for a few years & continuing his passion for cars, bikes and his ever building Jack's collection.
Prior to their wedding in 2022 while at work in hotels during his lunch break he had a 3 min seizure and was taken by Ambulance to Modbury Hospital where the doctors kept him in emergency for observation for a few hours and then made the decision to release him to go home as he was showing no further signs of anything.
Not long after being home whilst laying in his bed at home had another seizure and was again taken back to Modbury Hospital by the same SAAS paramedics as the first time and told it was just another epileptic fit by the hospital but this time kept in the womens dementia ward over night for observation as they were short on beds.
Following this being the needy bastard he is, little things such as: Collapsing outside and knocking himself out on the trailer in the driveway leaving a trail of blood and clumps of hair behind! (needing to leave his mark!!!) Collapsing twice just before work whilst getting dressed and saying he got up too quickly and passed out so that he got out of going to work and causing Rhylee and his mum to rush to his aid like I said... needy...
After a car accident earlier this year, that Darryl is yet to know what he has in fact done (2024), Scans revealed that a tumour has been present, (TONY the tumour as it has been affectionately named) after further investigation he has been told that epilepsy has been the wrong diagnosis the whole time.
After a multitude of tests & scans There is quite a Specialist Team involved and they have now advised surgery that will likely happen before Christmas and the Tumour must be Removed
We know that he has some of the most Specialist Drs possible for this Surgery and we hope that Noodles will recover and be able to meet his youngest daughter who is due early 2025 & be able to enjoy watching Ellie & baby Megaw grow up & enjoy their life to come with his Wife and daughters.
Now, more than ever, let’s show the Megaw's that they aren't on this journey alone.
