Help Support Oakland Creates Art, Comics and Zine Fest 2024

Oakland Creates Art, Comics and Zine Fest is an annual festival that celebrates creativity and making as well as preserving the culture of community and cooperation. Oakland Creates started in 2015 in the garage studio of my friends apartment 9 years ago and thankfully the fest has grown to include more artists and impact more Bay Area folks an this our 9th year we hope to share space with even more wonderful people.

Oakland Creates prioritizes women, Black and Brown artists as well as new and emerging art makers in the S.F. Eastbay. We include other underrepresented artists that have a vision to improve and empower their local communities as Oakland Creates is not only about art makers and creators but being a source of encouragement, education and engagement. As you know the cost of renting venue space is astronomical and this fundraiser seeks to offset that rising cost as well as the cost of insurance, securing tables, chairs, snacks and other basic supplies.

Oakland Creates is free to attend and is completely volunteer run including set up and breakdown and all the hours of organizing, marketing and planning completed with the generous help from artists and community members.

This year with your help Oakland Creates seeks to provide a place of restoration, rest and recovery as our world faces so many challenges to our mental health, personal well-being both globally and locally Oakland Creates actively seeks to provide a space to breathe, connect with one another and heal.
