Help Support Octavia in her Fight Against Leukaemia

Hello Everyone,

My name is Tamara and I’m reaching out on behalf of my 5 year old niece Octavia who has just been diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Our family is devastated by this news and are aware of the long battle that we have to fight ahead.

I’m starting this Go Fund Me in the hopes that her mom and dad won’t have to worry about the added financial stress in this hard time and can instead focus all their time and energy into making sure our Octavia can fight this battle, while remaining the happy and cheeky little girl that she has always been.

A little bit about our Octavia:

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Octavia she has probably won your heart within seconds with her infectious smile and giggles and beautiful big brown eyes! She is a shining light of cheekiness and cuteness and knows just how to use it! Octavia always has a smile on her face. She is fundamentally silly, cheeky, and oh-so-smart. She loves her cats Marlon and Pepper, her guinea pigs, Ed and Captain Munchie, and her fish back at home. Octavia also adores her big sister, Arden and when they aren't building cubbies out of every blanket in the house they are drawing amazing pictures and enjoying singing along loudly to music videos with mom and dad! She can’t wait to be reunited with her beloved pets and family at home again soon. Your support will make a significant difference during this time.

Octavia’s Journey:

On Sunday afternoon Alex and Dani noticed that Octavia had large and concerning bruises all over her body with no known cause, both he and Dani decided to take Octavia straight into the doctor’s office to be checked and get her bloods done immediately. Once her blood results had come back, they were advised to take her to Perth Children’s Hospital Emergency Department on Thursday night, here is when we received our first diagnosis of Leukaemia. Since being admitted, Octavia has undergone many procedures that include a lumbar puncture and a bone marrow biopsy. She is currently in the ICU on steroids to lower her white blood cell count before she can move to the Oncology ward and begin Chemotherapy on Monday. There are many uncertainties in the coming weeks and months regarding how she will respond to the planned treatments and we will need to adapt as needed.

Danielle and Alex:

My sister Danielle and her partner Alex are the most incredible parents any child could ever ask for, watching them raise their two little girls over the past 7 years has been the greatest pleasure. Their attention to detail, strength, care, and parental instincts have allowed us to catch this before it could get any worse and they have given our little girl her best chance to beat this. I am incredibly proud of who they both are as people and as parents, their strength and love for each other and their little family doesn’t go unnoticed and radiates to everyone that surrounds them.
