Help Support our Dad’s Accident Recovery

Hello all. We are Courtney Carey & Ashley Daugherty. On the afternoon of December 22nd, 2023 our dad Steven was in a severe motor vehicle accident. It appears he was not at fault and someone blew a stop sign. We believe he was ejected from the car. He was taken from the scene to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center where he went into emergency surgery to remove his spleen. An External Ventricular Drain was placed to monitor the pressure in his brain. He suffered numerous broken ribs, a broken clavicle, a subdural hematoma, and a collapsed lung. After surgery, Steven was transferred to OSF St. Francis surgical ICU floor.

We don’t know a lot, but what we do know is, he will not have the ability to work right now and he needs a lot of help. It’s going to be a long road. We are asking for any donations to help with medical expenses, travel expenses, and to help relieve the financial burden he will experience during his recovery.
